about

Mathias Van de Wiele and Noah Punkt met in the fall of 2017 for a casual and cosy recording session while beautiful snowflakes were falling from the sky. Both musicians instantly found a clear and interactive musical language: acoustic, direct, full of warmth and rich in colours.
Two instruments talking, whispering and sometimes arguing with each other using and extending the language of Jazz and Improvised Music. Intimate music that is created right in the very moment.

German bass player Noah Punkt is a known figure in the German and Swiss Jazz and Improv scene. Besides his work in Germany and Switzerland with punkt3, Jaeger/Punkt/Hemingway and SENSOR he’s now residing and playing in Belgium. He also runs the Leipzig based label Otherunwise.
Mathias Van de Wiele is a Ghent based guitar / alto horn player who is best known for his work with Moker, Wheels, TSP and Lamar, he also works regularly as a sideman and composes for dance productions... and produces for Chopstick records.
This EP is a co-production by both labels.
